"I created the shape of this sculpture in spring 2023 in Mallorca. The work was finished and fired in Paris. The "nap" is the permanent state I was in on this island. After leaving Ukraine, the island of Mallorca was the first place where I had the opportunity to create, free from all technical and material concerns. This work is filled with the energies of the sea, the sun and these short but carefree vacations. “Siesta” is like a stone polished by a wave and abandoned on a sandy beach, under the sun of Santanyi (Mallorca)."
